With a background in pastoral ministry, I write speculative novels and short stories. My work in progress is a completed four-part fantasy series called Coin of Rulve, which my wonderful beta readers are helping me edit and revise. Coin of Rulve is a tale of spiritual quests, and contains elements of romance, bits of horror, and what Tolkien might call "eucatastrophe"--a tragic event that is nonetheless redemptive. My short story, "Dried Beans," won first place in the Julia Grice Fiction Competition and was later published the St. Anthony Messenger magazine. Three of my flash fictions have also appeared online. My work has received recognition from Writer's Digest, Writers of the Future, and Rochester Writers. I'm a member of Phi Beta Kappa and serve on the executive committee of Detroit Working Writers.
